U.S.A.', the left side of the frame is marked 'RUGER OLD ARMY', the right is marked with the serial number. The circumference of the cylinder is marked 'FOR BLACK POWDER ONLY' twice.
Barrel Length: 7 ½”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter circle blade with one flat mounted to the barrel and one flat facing the shooter. The rear sight is a square notched cut into the frame at the rear of a round groove in the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: Two-piece smooth imitation ivory. The grips have a little bit of discoloration and residue with a small scuffed area on the right panel. There are no chips or cracks in the grips. Overall the grips are in Fine-plus condition.

Finish Originality: Factory Original with the exception of the hammer and base-pin retaining pin.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright; there is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish on original parts. There is a small mark on the left side of the barrel at the muzzle, one on the right side of the frame under the rear screw, and another on the backstrap near the scuff mark on the grip panel. The cylinder has a light turn line. The chambers of the cylinder appear unfired, though fouling on the frame indicates that the frame has been fired. The screw heads are sharp with little to no wear. The markings are clear. The hammer has been replaced with one which has a steep incline to the hammer spur and doe not dip down on the serrated portion. Smooth jazz instrumental mp3 download. The base pin retention pin appears to have had the notch widened and a flat piece of stainless steel welded in to allow disassembly without tools. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition as currently configured.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and the cylinder lockup is tight with only light play on each chamber. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is one additional cylinder which appears to have been fired little, if at all. The cylinder does have a light turn line on it.
Our Assessment: The Holy Grail for a Cowboy Action Shooter in the Frontiersman category or Plainsman side-match, Ruger introduced the Old Army Revolver in 1975. It is a modernized percussion pistol, based loosely on the Remington New Army, but with improvements so advanced that they are classified as Modern handguns; these are considered ATF MODERN because it is not a replica of an antique firearm and because cartridge conversion cylinders are available for these items; the frame is similar to a Blackhawk. These pistols are rugged and reliable. Production ceased in 2008, so the only way to add an Old Army to your rig is to find a used one. This particular Old Army is in Excellent condition, retaining 98% of its original finish. The action is in perfect working order, the rifling is sharp and the imitation ivory grips complement its stainless steel finish. Whether for use in Cowboy Action Shooting or just to go to the range and blow some smoke, this revolver has rugged Ruger reliability with old-world design and function. Please see our photos and good luck!
